As evidenced by Sleepy’s legal nightmare only recently ending and them still being assholes to B.A.P, TS Entertainment and the people who run it are still around despite the company being functionally defunct. Unfortunately, that reportedly now manifests itself as a “successor” company, as a former executive of TSE and their family have secured funding from Filipino investors to start MBK Company (not PocketDol Studio/MBK Entertainment).
As of now, they have just Kim Gyu Gyeol under their label, and the report boasts (?) that employees are supposedly made up of “key figures” from TSE. They also hope to search for global talent to start another idol group.
They also delivered one of the unintentionally funniest quotes about a new company I’ve ever seen.
An official from MBK Company expressed his ambition, saying, “We will continue the reputation of TS Entertainment and establish ourselves as an influential entertainment company in the world of popular culture.”
The reputation of having literally every artist that’s ever been under your label file a lawsuit against you? The one where employees and staff have accused you of violating labor laws and have reported you to authorities for lack of payment at least twice? That reputation? My head hurts.
I cannot express how concerned I am for the kids who inevitably get duped by this company.
