In what seemed to be played off as a bit of a funny story, TEEN TOP member Niel recalled getting a busted lip as a result of being punched by the “leader”.
While on KARA‘s Gyuri‘s YouTube channel with INFINITE‘s Sungjong to talk about their generation and what not, they talked about resolving their differences in groups.
Here, Gyuri mentioned, “With girl groups, there are times when disagreements arise, but they never get resolved completely. So it ends up leaving a bad feeling in your gut. I was always curious if it was the same with boy groups, or if you guys just fight it out with your fists.”
Sungjong said they basically talked it out in INFINITE, but Niel then revealed things got physical in their group.
Sungjong, referring to his group INFINITE, said, “I don’t know if any of us ever fought with our fists. We just always told the other person up front if there was something bothering us.”
However, Niel revealed, “We fought a lot. Things got physical real fast.” Both Gyuri and Sungjong were shocked to hear this, and Sungjong asked, “But you didn’t hit each other in the face?” To this, Niel answered, “No I did get hit in the face. One time, I had to get stitches on my lip because I got hit in the face.”
He went on to explain that it was about some kind of disagreement over a hairdryer.
He explained, “It was the pettiest thing. One of the hyungs was user the hair dryer on their feet. But then I came out of the shower and took the dryer from him, saying, ‘Let me dry my hair’. He got pissed off, and we got into a fight. So while we were fighting, the leader hyung saw us, got up, and punched me because I was the younger one. He hit me once, and I got pushed back. That was just how we resolved things back then.”
Niel continued, “But after that, we went to grab food, but my lip hurt really bad. So I told the manager, ‘I fell on the stairs’, and went to urgent care. They had to stitch it up. But we had ‘Inkigayo’ the next day. My lip was so swollen on that ‘Inkigayo’ stage.”
As far as I know, the only leader TEEN TOP had was the already-controversial C.A.P, which somehow makes this make all the sense in the world and probably easier to admit. Realistically this kind of stuff probably happens way more often than any of us will know, but C.A.P’s status and the time that’s passed probably makes it easier to say.
Also, Gyuri has a YT channel and it’s fun, but doesn’t have subs, so … good luck.
