Over three months ago, LOONA’s Chuu won the appeal for her contract nullification case against Blockberry Creative, but because Blockberry really wants to make donations to lawyers or something, they appealed the case all the way up to the Supreme Court. Well, now that result is in and Chuu has won there as well.
Chuu from the group LOONA, (25, legal name Kim Jiwoo) has won the final victory in her lawsuit against her former agency to invalidate her exclusive contract, after a dispute over profit settlement.
On the 27th, the Supreme Court’s 3rd Division (Chief Justice Roh Jung-hee) invoked Discontinuation of Adjudication and upheld the result of the appellate trial in Chuu’s lawsuit against Blockberry Creative to “confirm the non-existence of the exclusive contract effect,” which had ruled in favor of the plaintiff.
Discontinuation of Adjudication is a system that dismisses the appeal without hearing the case unless there is a specific reason, such as illegality in the judgment of the lower court in the appeal, excluding criminal cases.
That basically sounds like the court saying that Blockberry was being stupid as hell for even wasting their time. Yeesh.

Congrats to Chuu, obviously, but this also bodes well for the other 11 members of LOONA who still have ongoing legal cases with Blockberry — which I also sorta recapped just over a week ago after Blockberry’s latest loss.
Now if Blockberry were smart they’d see the writing on the wall with this and wouldn’t appeal those cases all the way up to the Supreme Court as well, but hey, maybe that’s all the hope they have left at this point.
