STAYC seem well on their way to being the next non-Big 4 girl group that breaks through into the mainstream — they certainly have all the tools to do so — and they aim to take another step in that direction with “STEREOTYPE”.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they end up doing exactly that, but the elements of the song itself all kinda blended in with one another, something that becomes especially apparent on repeated listening. I guess releasing a peppy, K-pop romp without the addictive and melodic parts of that is technically going against the stereotype.
