When it was revealed that a bunch of celebrities would be forming a women’s team under FC Rumor, there was a surprising amount of backlash and comical speculation about it. Honestly, I feared they might just scrap the idea since it wouldn’t be worth the backlash, but in a statement today it does seem like they’re continuing on.
The statement addresses the reason for wanting to start the team, that they do not want to cause controversy, and goals for the team.
It is obviously still comical that they even need to effectively justify their interest in a sport, but since it definitely was a thing in certain fan communities, I think they addressed it the best they can.
Now that they are continuing, I only need to know how to support. Hey, I always enjoyed watching Hello Project’s Gatas Brilhantes H.P. futsal team, so this could be pretty amazing content in addition to being fun for them.
