Mnet‘s new show consisting of established girl groups debuted recently and Queendom seemed to deliver at least some interesting moments at least.
MAMAMOO, Park Bom, Oh My Girl, (G)I-DLE, Lovelyz, and AOA all performed one of their past hits over the course of the first two episodes.
MAMAMOO – “Decalcomanie”
Park Bom – “You And I”
Oh My Girl – “Secret Garden”
(G)I-DLE – “LATATA”
Lovelyz – “Ah-Choo”
AOA – “Miniskirt”
At that point the rankings were announced, split into three categories: judge votes, self-evaluation votes, and audience votes.
Idol trainees were the judges for this with (G)I-DLE coming out ahead, while the self-evaluation saw AOA take to the top. Following that they revealed the combined ranking, which placed (G)I-DLE on top, MAMAMOO in second, Oh My Girl in third, AOA in fourth, Park Bom in fifth, and Lovelyz in sixth.
Thought the concept has promise, especially if things get creative from here, like when they do cover songs next week. Granted, the tension isn’t there since they’re all established groups without a ton on the line, but I wouldn’t complain if this essentially became a vehicle for live performed special stages, remixes, and covers, honestly. Perhaps even collabs if they wanted to get adventurous. Enough with the survival show shit.
