Covered, because I needed a place to talk about the covers I enjoyed without having to make a whole post for each one.
======
Jay Chang (ONE PACT & B.D.U) & Kriesha Chu – Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars’ “Die With A Smile”
This seemed to come out of nowhere, but I really enjoyed this cover. Felt they complimented each other well and Jay Chang in particular opened my eyes a bit here.
——
Sohyang – Beyonce’s “Listen” – Moving Voices
As a part of this, Sohyang sung more famous songs, but I think this was most impressive to me overall. Moving voices, indeed.
——
IU – IVE’s “ELEVEN” – Palette
Being able to sing all parts of a song designed for a group will always be harder than it appears, regardless of whether the song itself is challenging. The fact that there’s a rock-tinge incorporated into the arrangement and that it comes along with a live band only helps things.
——
Hanbyeol – SZA’s “BMF”
Hanbyeol has been doing quality work and deserves some love for it.
——
CATCH THE YOUNG’s Jungmo & Namhyun – Yuuri’s “Leo”
They’re really in their element here, and this kind of stuff helps me appreciate the potential of the group.
——
Henry & Zairo – Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’ – Moving Voices
The violin was an interesting angle, but Henry‘s vocal surprised me, honestly. Not that I thought he was bad or anything, but I didn’t really think he was capable of this.
——
Swan (Ex-Weeekly’s Jiyoon) – Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso”
Good way to find out she’s still singing, and I’d like a full version.
======
Because this is a first, here’s Dreamcatcher‘s Siyeon‘s rock remix of Bruno Mars‘ “Treasure“, which will always be famous (in my heart). If their company wasn’t cowards, they’d release a full version of this arrangement, and I would lap it up endlessly.
