Okay, this actually happened a couple of days ago, and I was gonna begrudgingly cover it after my now-infamous Thanksgiving break, but then that whole literal coup attempt happened. Anyway, added on to the string of negative girl group news, C9 Entertainment has announced the disbandment of their Cignature.
After thorough discussions between the company and the members, it was mutually agreed that the disbandment of the group was necessary.
As a result, we have terminated the exclusive contracts of all seven cignature members regardless of the remaining duration of their contracts. The group’s activities also officially concluded as of November 30, 2024.
I always love these corpo-speak announcements that act as if the members had equal say in the decision or something. Please man, at least spare us that type of phrasing.

Cignature lasted just short of four years after they debuted in early 2020. They admittedly didn’t have the physicals, digitals, or notoriety (despite Jeewon’s late rise to prominence) to realistically make this a particularly surprising decision by the company, but having just four comebacks and taking all of 2022 off certainly didn’t help them build any momentum.
Anyway, here’s their personal Instagram accounts that they were just allowed to open up: Jeewon, Dohee, Chaesol, Chloe, Semi, and Seline (Belle is currently in UNIS as Hyeonju).
