Speaking of catching up on news, here’s a sizable steaming dump on your plate for Chuseok.
======
- San E apologized for assaulting a pedestrian with his phone, father was also involved
- Blockberry Creative are broke & can’t pay contracts or workers, 2 execs being charged with multiple crimes
- EXO’s Baekhyun apologized for vaping indoors in Macau, saying they were unaware it was prohibited
- Sleepy’s lawsuit against TS Entertainment is finally over, they took him to the Supreme Court
Blockberry Creative are truly the new TS Entertainment, and speaking of them, I can’t believe they took Sleepy to the Supreme Court. He won his case like three years ago!
Again, not saying it’s a good thing to do, but I feel like vaping/smoking indoors is like … standard. We know the stats on how many Koreans smoke, we know idols are in high stress environments that leads to smoking, yet we rarely see them smoking. So where are they doing it? I think we know, it’s just we mostly find out thanks to some spy photo or they fudge up in a YouTube video, basically. They should be called out, but I can’t even feign surprise.

- B1A4’s Gongchan has left WM Entertainment after 13 years, will continue in group
- VIVIZ renewed their contract with BPM Entertainment
- Jamie signs with Plan B Entertainment
- Nana signs with SUBLIME, leaving Pledis Entertainment after 15 years
- KARA’s Youngji leaves DSP Media
- Jang Gyuri signs with Namoo Actors
- Jessi has signed with DOD and established her own label UNNI
VIVIZ renewing in the midst of all the BPM Entertainment drama is interesting, seems like they’re doing something right at least. Congrats on Nana for finally being free, and I hope Youngji leaving doesn’t impact KARA at least.

- Bomin, TAG, Jibeom leave Golden Child & Woollim Entertainment, group to continue as 7
- Weki Meki has disbanded, members Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, Lucy have left Fantagio
- RBW announced that VROMANCE has disbanded
Weki Meki was expected, and apparently so were Golden Child changes from what I saw on social media, but I certainly didn’t see that coming. Thought they were doing alright.

- Jang Keun Suk had surgery in May to address thyroid cancer
- VVUP’s Hyunny leaves group due to health issues, VVUP to continue as trio
- Dreamcatcher’s Siyeon is returning as her health has improved
- Dreamcatcher’s Dami is going to miss Latin America tour stops to rest
- EVERGLOW’s Aisha will miss US and Latin America tour stops due to health
Any cancer is terrible, but fortunately thyroid cancer is usually quite treatable, so hopefully that’s the case for Jang Keun Suk.

- Winners on Day 1 of the 2024 The Fact Music Awards
- Winners on Day 2 of the 2024 The Fact Music Awards
Oh joy, award season is back. My favorite.

- Tao (ex-EXO) and Xu Yiyang are getting married
- Yujeong (ex-BB GIRLS) and Lee Kyu Han have broken up
- FIESTAR’s Hyemi is getting married
- EXID’s Hani’s marriage to Yang Jae Woong is being postponed
- Rainbow’s Yoonhye is marrying actor Ahn Jae Min
- LABOUM’s Haein and her husband are expecting a second child
I just hope Yujeong not continuing with BBGIRLS was cause that’s what she wanted and not cause of her relationship or something. As far as Hani goes, obviously the victim is the priority in the story but I just don’t get why people are acting like she’s just as responsible for her fiance’s negligence or something. It’s like you marry a surgeon and they/their unit gets hit for medical malpractice resulting in death or something. Terrible and tragic, but I doubt feelings for the person change, so not sure what she’s supposed to do in this situation. Easy for bystanders to just say dump him cause he’s ruining her image or whatever but that’s not how real people work in reality.
Give "Aalow Aalow" a music show win AT LEAST.
