The global expansion of K-pop has been cool to see in some ways, like as somebody who covers the news, I never thought I’d end up covering KBS and Music Bank beefing with Real Madrid C.F. and Santiago Bernabéu Stadium over the cancellation of their Music Bank In Madrid show due to newly implemented stadium policies.
That show was scheduled for October 12, but the stadium administration announced that all music concerts would be cancelled until March 2025 due to local residents complaints. Aside from the short notice of the cancellation, they seem aggrieved at the lack of communication.
For the unilateral cancellation, they demand an apology, that they take financial (and ethical) responsibility for losses, and that they work on rescheduling the event.
