The episode of SBS‘s Inkigayo on August 11, 2024 was no normal one, as it marked the return of former TVXQ member Kim Jaejoong to the program. It was his first on a major terrestrial music program and Inkigayo in 16 years following a totally mysterious and random blacklisting unrelated to SM Entertainment after leaving SME with the three JYJ members.
Anyway, he performed his comeback track “Glorious Day“, as well as a special stage with “I AM U“.
This follows an apparent softening of policy by SME that began over a year ago when they sent Jaejoong a congratulatory wreath to his new company. They don’t deserve any credit for doing this 16 years late, of course, but I am glad that Jaejoong apparently gets to make his way back into promotions, and this is just the latest step.
