QWER land a fitting League Of Legends collab, drop “ANIMA POWER” song and music video

In collaboration with League Of Legends, QWER have made a Japanese single called “ANIMA POWER” for the new upcoming game mode/skin line coming out for Riot Games‘ popular MOBA franchise.

It’s inspired by the Anima Squad summer PvE mode called Swarm that is set to premiere a new skin line, with the theme of animals crossed with cybernetic designs that turns some of the game’s champions into these superhuman-like warriors. The main opposition is the Primordians, an alien faction that has invaded and is set on wiping the planet, which is where QWER come along to save the world.

I’ve mentioned in past articles how their band was formed with some links to games like LoL in the past, thus this crossover while being the most obvious to me, and the fact that some of the members have either cosplayed or regularly stream the game makes this mashup fit perfectly.

Now onto the song, which is a short anime intro-esque video, but what we hear is a very refreshing and cute theme that portrays the lightheartedness of the event’s PvE elements along with anime depictions of the Anima Squad and, of course, the adorable Scuttle Crabs!

I found myself preferring the Japanese version over the Korean version as we got to hear Lee Siyeon sing in Japanese again, and I found it really match the anime video that accompanied the song. While still being upbeat and similar to QWER’s other releases, “ANIMA POWER” does lack both the guitar and bass that we are used to hearing in their tracks. Still, the keyboard and drums really help drive the upbeat and energetic theme of this cheer song, and I particularly love the Scuttle Crabs waving their glow sticks while cheering on the anime depictions of Battle Bunny Miss Fortune and Battle Dove Seraphine (fine, I’ll mention the cute cameo of Yuumi).

Hidden throughout the video are anime cameos of all the Primordian skins and Anima skins. I really hope this skin line and song do resonate with fans so we can get more collabs like these, and hopefully see QWER at something like MSI or Worlds this year.

While this isn’t going to be something to light up the end of the year charts, it’s absolutely wonderful to see QWER land such a fitting collaboration. I’ll definitely be keeping this one in the playlist while I lock into another loser queue session of LoL to reset my mental after my team int’s the game away yet again (yes, I’m a hardstuck ADC main, it’s never my fault for losing, always my glue huffing Top Laner or helmet wearing Support).

If you want to also see how the girls have been slowly expanding their YouTube variety content, I would also suggest checking out some of there videos that have English subtitles as well. In particular, their 24-hour video warehouse video where they go full gamer mode and chug Mountain Dews and beat meme games like Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy.
