Okay, so there’s actually quite a bit that has happened this time around, including a few news items I didn’t really want to dedicate much time to, multiple disbandments, and health news (including everybody getting pregnant).
======
- Dancer Kelly Sweeney was recently credited by HYBE for choreo used by ILLIT
- ONF and their fandom are currently dealing with an unprofessional tour agency in J&B Entertainment
- BLACKPINK’s Jennie vaped indoors and apologized
The ILLIT choreography thing was something that was probably less noteworthy when it happened back in February, but that got more attention now. I just feel bad for ONF, and an underrated part of a K-pop group’s touring going well is just finding one of the simply bad agencies instead of the truly horrible ones.
Jennie‘s thing … it’s illegal and fucking annoying to do around staff, but the proportion of backlash seems insane even if her fans were being annoying. Having to apologize is deserved, and hopefully she stops being one of those annoying smokers, but people are like trying to convince me this proves she’s a horrible person … and I simply don’t give a shit that much. Sorry?

- 2AM’s Lim Changmin has signed with MAJOR9
- GOT7’s Youngjae has signed with And But Company
- Yoon Jisung has left DG Entertainment
- Jang Gyuri (ex-Fromis 9) has left Just Entertainment
- Yujeong (ex-BB GIRLS) has signed with RND Company
- Zion.T has left THEBLACKLABEL
Zion.T‘s exit is noteworthy, but I wouldn’t say it’s all that surprising. However, I was sorta surprised by Yujeong signing up elsewhere, as I thought she was going to ride off into the sunset and out of entertainment. Guess that might explain some rumored bad blood with BB GIRLS.
——
- PIXY’s Dajeong has left the group
- TAN has disbanded
- BRANDNEWMUSIC says Hyunseung will no longer be in YOUNITE or the company
- Favorite has disbanded
- MIRAE has announced their disbandment
Three disbandments in one clearinghouse post is rough, especially MIRAE, who DSP Entertainment surely had high hopes for after APRIL disintegrated. KARD is pretty stable for them as primarily a touring group, but I guess all their eggs are in YOUNG POSSE‘s basket now to vault them back to the mainstream.
——
- Crush has undergone lumbar disc surgery
- n.CH Entertainment announced n.SSign’s Eddie will go on hiatus to prioritize his health
- Dreamcatcher’s Siyeon will be sitting out of promotions for “JUSTICE”
- ITZY’s Lia has returned to the group from hiatus
- A.C.E’s Kang Yuchun to sit out US tour due to eardrum damage
Crush needing spinal surgery at 32 is fucking brutal dude, kinda hits home, honestly. Once you’re on the other side of 30, one wrong bending motion can send your core health to the netherworld. Additionally, the Eddie news is obviously related to his outburst against his group and the company. Would like a more detailed explanation of things at least, but they’re doing damage control by hoping it fades from the news cycle.
Obviously the health update that matters the most to me personally is Siyeon, but there are rumors she could be back by the end of the month, so hopefully it’s not serious and not relating to her voice. Oh and hey, positive news for once in this section! Lia is back with ITZY, so that’s nice to hear.

- Kim Jaehwan has enlisted in the military, will serve in the band
- SF9’s Dawon has enlisted in the military, will serve active duty
Good luck, boys.
——
- Hyerim (ex-Wonder Girls) is pregnant with her second child
- ASH ISLAND and CHANMINA announce marriage and pregnancy
- Song Joong Ki and his wife are expecting another kid
Song Joong Ki got to work immediately, and it does kinda lend credibility to the speculation that the conflict with Song Hye Kyo might’ve been about family. The ASH ISLAND and CHANMINA marriage is funny cause it sorta came out of nowhere to me, yet when I read the headline I was like, “Yeah, that makes sense.”

Hoping for the injuries to stop, honestly.
