LUN8 are a Fantagio boy group that debuted last year and they’ve only recently made their first comeback with “SUPER POWER“, which caught my attention due to how it almost encapsulates a main branch of K-pop at the moment. A simple, funky track with a consistent, bright energy, “SUPER POWER” features brisk verses and a catchy sing-a-long hook that the members themselves elevate thanks to their pleasant vocal tones.
The single is cynically perfect for the times, almost feeling pre-fabricated to fit the easy-listening trend in K-pop and go viral on TikTok. It’s definitely in the mode of songs like “Cupid“, where it entirely depends on whether its chorus gets embedded into your brain, but to their credit, they’re probably one of the closest to effectively replicating FIFTY FIFTY‘s formula. Exactly how much do I like it? I honestly don’t know yet, but it’s carefree playlist material at worse, and maybe more if I get the hook force-fed to me enough.
LUN8's company needs to push "SUPER POWER" on TikTok. Could easily see every annoying Asian-American couple on there being early adopters.

I’m telling you, man, get in touch with those content creators. Companies need to do their job and take a shot in the dark to have a chance nowadays.
