Idols getting hate from netizens is obviously nothing new, but the recent spate of controversies has been remarkable even to me. In the span of about 24 hours, five articles were released of basically just picking on the most nonsensical shit to have an excuse to hate on idols. I’m not sure how often I’ve seen backlash about such stupid shit all in succession.
Let’s get into it.

Starting things, we got IVE‘s Lee Seo being criticized for having human emotions like joy, which we know is a cardinal sin…
…then there’s NCT Dream‘s Jaemin being criticized for making a joke for the fans who were the reason he’s on that stage accepting that award to begin with…
…and of course there’s aespa‘s Giselle for having facial expressions during a 500-hour show or whatever…
…or even for not having facial expressions during said 10,000-year show…
…or THE BOYZ‘s Hyunjae for, uh, having a face (?) and being goofy or something…
…and finally, NMIXX‘s Kyujin for trying while dancing too good, I guess? I dunno.
Anyway, what a fucking 24 hours for K-pop hating, man. I’m sure there’s been runs like this in the past because it’s constant, but perhaps never for shit so dumb, that also got coverage, and that spanned across all different fandoms and events. Remarkable turnout for people who care about the dumbest shit.
