When I saw that TWICE member Chaeyoung had apologized for wearing an offensive shirt, I honestly skipped over the news for a while as I figured it was about the QAnon shirt, which was more of a funny fuck up of the stylist than anything else.
Well, turns out it was about a different shirt that was far harder to make an excuse for, as it sported a swastika in the form of Sid Vicious wearing it on his shirt.
As such, she released a brief apology.
Hello, this is Chaeyoung from TWICE.
I sincerely apologize regarding the Instagram post. I didn’t correctly recognize the meaning of the tilted swastika in the t-shirt I wore.
I deeply apologize for not thoroughly reviewing it, causing concern. I will pay absolute attention in the future to prevent any situation similar from happening again.
Sincerely apologize again.
There are some primarily Western issues like QAnon where I understand not getting every reference to it, but seemingly nobody recognizing a swastika? Come on, man. You have to be better than that, both in general and especially when you’re trying to make inroads in America.
