Following the Dispatch expose showing text convos from Burning Sun employees preying on inebriated women for VIP clients and accusing them of providing drugs, the President of the club made a denial of the charges.
Now a social media post last year has gained attention, as a woman who is accused of dealing drugs at Burning Sun while working there took a photo with Seungri saying that she had to earn it.
The woman, according to reports, is Chinese, goes by the nickname “Aena,” and is currently under suspicion of dealing drugs at Burning Sun while working there as an MD. The photo in question is from the woman’s social media, which she posted in October 2018 with the caption, “You have to work hard if you want a photo with CEO Seungri. Doing a lot after getting drunk this week.”
In response, Seungri had to address the connection, saying that he does not know the woman and that it was just a random picture.
In response to the photo, Seungri said he does not know who the woman is. “I was at the club and she asked me for a photo, so I agreed. I don’t remember when we took the photo or who she is.” Seungri added, “There are countless photos of me and fans on the internet, on social media, and in online communities. When I’m at the club, there are a lot of people that approach me and ask for a photo, and I usually accept.”
Yeah, this sorta seems like a reach to me as evidence that Seungri was directly complicit in all the mess. He’s a celebrity and selfies with randos they don’t know is frequent, especially if his role was PR.
Regardless, the underlying story aside from Seungri continues, as the police plans to investigate the woman.
Meanwhile, police have stated that they are planning to investigate Aena, but are currently unable to reach her. She faced a charge involving marijuana last year, but received a suspension of indictment. If she is still in Korea, reports say she is in the country illegally, as her passport has expired.
One wrinkle is that she is reportedly one of the two women who sued the assault victim that started all this.
Reports also revealed that Aena is one of the two women who sued Kim Sang Kyo for sexual harassment. Kim Sang Kyo is the Mr. Kim in question who first put Burning Sun in the public eye with his accusations of assault last month.
So all of this seems to continue to add to Burning Sun’s problems, if not Seungri’s. But the biggest strike against them is still those text messages that are impossible to get past, and they haven’t done anything to question their legitimacy.
