In a recent interview, Holland talked about growing up homosexual in Korea, his motivation for being an openly gay idol in Korea, and the fact that he rather hilariously had not yet come out to his parents (I mean … I would guess they know now). Also, he addresses a rather cynical criticism of him using being out as noise marketing.
Holland sounds like he has a plan and he intends on executing it, so credit to him. Also, as a cynical asshole, it never made sense to criticize him for promoting being out, but even less so when he explains why he wants to be out himself.
