Details have been sparse about the third season of ‘Produce 101‘, which will be a collab with AKB48 called ‘Produce 48‘. However, recently it was revealed at ‘AKB48 Kohaku‘ that members from any 48 Group will be able to apply for the program.
We're talking about the AKB48 x Produce 101 collaboration now, the Produce 48 Project. All current members in the 48 Group can participate, if they apply #AKB48

The applications will take place from December 15 to January 10.
I find this interaction fascinating, but … I still don’t quite understand what the angle is for either side. It’s honestly kind of puzzling from a motivation standpoint, and that doesn’t even factor the logistics behind making a decent show out of this.
