‘Produce 48’ teased during 2017 MAMA in Japan after AKB48 & K-pop collab stage

Hey remember that report from earlier this month that the third season of ‘Produce 101‘ would see them creating a girl group again and would have Mnet teaming up with AKB48 and AKS? Remember how that report was denied as “groundless” by Mnet at the time? Well at 2017 MAMA in Japan just moments ago, Mnet teased something called ‘Produce 48‘ is coming in 2018.

What’s the difference since ‘Produce 101’ and shows like that are basically AKB48 anyway? Who knows, but it could be fun?

Anyway, it was only appropriate that this was announced after AKB48 teamed up with Weki Meki, Chungha, PRISTIN, Fromis 9, and Idol School Class One on “Pick Me“, “Heavy Rotation“, and “Koisuru Fortune Cookie” performances.
