Cosmic Girl (Jooyi) has returned to us — after a debut that showed a lot of potential — with “Don’t You Worry Bout Me” featuring an appearance by rapper San E.
While the track definitely sticks closely to the R&B script, it has nice pacing to it and the lively instrumental features an appealing beat throughout. Things do start to get a bit repetitive towards the midsection of the song, but San E arrives just in time (won’t hear that from me often) to switch things up a bit. The bridge and closing that follow both feature strong vocal efforts, which Jooyi unsurprisingly handles with aplomb.
It’s a pleasant listen and it puts her further down the type of career path/musical identity that I believe she should be aiming for.
