“Try” signals Park Jimin’s momentary release from JYP Entertainment’s dungeon. While it is not a ballad chronicling her imprisonment in the dungeon’s plastic pants-filled depths, the song itself is light and pleasantly sung. It is a welcomed departure from her usual fare as it displays how folky her voice can be when allowed to dance through phrases. Hopefully she’ll be allowed out more often to release songs like this.
