Jessica recently talked about SNSD, the breakup, and how her time with the group and SM Entertainment were bound to come to an end because they had differing interests.
Understandably, she was a bit cautious about mentioning Girls’ Generation and SM Entertainment at first. She started off with, “I’m not sure what to say,” but then opened up with her affections for her previous group, stating, “I wouldn’t be here without Girls’ Generation. If there were no Girls’ Generation, there would be no me. Also, Girls’ Generation would not be here without the company. It’s very precious. I have no desire to deny who I was at the time.” Regarding the process of her departure, she said, “There was no choice but to make that decision. Our interests were different. We had to separate at some time; I just think that my time of departure came first.” In relation to some of the negative viewpoints, Jessica said, “If there’s any misunderstanding, I will resolve that at any time. The truth will go through in the end, and when time passes, I believe [people] would come to recognize [the truth].”
So that doesn’t actually reveal any new information, it just runs a bit counter to the delulu Jessica stan narrative that she was voted out by the tribe and still hates everybody in SNSD for their betrayal. Rather, they had differing stances on the direction of her career, but rather than let her see it off properly, the company likely gave her the ax earlier than she would’ve liked.

Regardless of the lack of actual new info, fandoms were flipping the fuck out over this. The material difference is that the stuff about the differing interests and a separation seemingly being inevitable comes out of Jessica’s mouth, and though Jessica was still technically booted, it was in a way which runs counter to the delulu Jessica stan narrative that the remaining eight held a Council Of Elrond where Taeyeon put a hit on Jessica because she’s an evil #KimchiSneakyBitch.
Basically, now Jessica stans are a fucking mess of conspiracy theories, while SNSD stans are acting like Jessica’s diplomatic and conciliatory answer so she could have a career fundamentally changes everything and are quite pissed at Jessica to the point of telling her not to talk about SNSD anymore despite the fact that her talking about SNSD got them breathing room from the crazies to begin with (and that she was a key member of the group for quite a while).
Anyway, I’m now quite confident the mess won’t subside anytime soon.
