The K-pop episode of ‘Family Guy’ also referenced KARA, Crayon Pop, PSY, more

As mentioned late yesterday, ‘Family Guy‘ managed to work K-pop into their most recent episode. The show actually included a snippet of SISTAR‘s “Touch My Body” music video, but the meat of the K-pop involvement was a parody music video of HyunA‘s “Bubble Pop” that referenced a bunch of other acts.

Aside from SISTAR and HyunA, there were also the dance moves of KARA‘s “Step“, Crayon Pop‘s “Bar Bar Bar“, and PSY‘s “Gangnam Style“.

Additionally, there were the utterly pointless signs from “Ice Cream“.

Hell, they even nailed the fashion.

But SISTAR were the main recipients of legit airtime, being featured in real-life form twice in the episode.

The episode also revolved around the Korean drama scene, and it pretty much scored on that as well.

Yes, they are addictive.

Of course, because it’s ‘Family Guy’, the episode basically ran on cheap jokes about Asian height, androgyny, accents, food, and culture, all of which fell short of being half-decent comedy writing and were awkwardly shoehorned in at random. Sooo what I’m saying is that it was a typical ‘Family Guy’ episode…

…but at least the parts about K-pop and Korean dramas were entertaining.

Oh yeah, it’s also managed to recruit some new fans as well.

It’s okay, man. It’s okay. We understand.
