Former T-ara member Areum is unconscious after attempting to take her own life, according to her fiancé

Former T-ara member Areum tried to take her own life earlier today, which was reported earlier and has now been confirmed by her fiancé in an Instagram story.

“Thank you to Areum’s fans and those who are connected to her for reaching out with your worry and encouragement. Please do not make any unnecessary or weird contact requests [to me]. Please be proper. A person is in pain and unconscious… Please… refrain, I beg of you. I pray that Areum will be okay.”

In case you weren’t aware, Areum has been through a lot of late (and in general, dating back to being threatened while in T-ara).

Last December, news broke that the idol was in the midst of a divorce and she had plans to remarry. Netizens started to criticize her and accuse her of all kinds of stuff, so she addressed things.

“I joked around with rude words until the end, but I think it’s time to stop if I want to stand with a clear conscience.” She added, “The meaning of ‘cheating’ is loving someone while loving another. I gave birth to my second alone, and I’ve been suffering for a long time. I’ve been struggling for a long time thinking about my children, but now I plan to live life while enjoying it.”

Areum denied she cheated and explained that her husband was simply not allowing her to divorce cleanly.

Then earlier this month, Areum came forward to accuse her husband of not only abusing her but their two children as well (she also provided evidence in the form of photos).

Areum claimed that Kim had taken out loans without her knowledge and was involved in gambling. He has also never offered her any financial support. She also accused him of being violent toward her while they were married.

According to Areum’s statement, the younger son, who is less than a year old, was frequently thrown onto the bed, while the older son, who is five, was hit and even kicked out of the house for making noise while Kim and his mother were asleep.

Areum did state at the end that she now had custody of the children.

Additionally, just earlier today Areum recently expanded on the abuse she herself endured while with her husband (again, including pictures as evidence).

“Then, one day in November 2021, he completely lost control of his temper. He pinned me down on the bed and ripped my clothes off, choking me and threatening to kill me—in front of our child watching. He also beat me enough to give me bruises around my nose. He also punched the bottom of my feet, and I couldn’t walk for a while. That’s when he got a call from his mother. As soon as he picked up, he told her, ‘She’s acting crazy right now, and she’s being violent with me. She needs to be in a psych ward.’ So I started screaming, ‘He’s the one beating me up right now. Please help.’ But she hung up. He became even more violent after the phone call, and he started beating me up again. I couldn’t think of anything else but my child. I tried my best to calm him down, and I was able to convince him to talk in the living room. The thing is, whenever we’d have a fight, he’d take my phone away and lock me up in the bedroom, either talking to me or hitting me until his rage subsided. So when he stepped away from the living room for a second—to talk to his mom or someone on the phone—I grabbed my child and ran out the door. I didn’t even think about the fact that my clothes were ripped.”

Honestly, I don’t have much to say, it’s just maddening and tragic given all she’s had to endure.

I dunno, it sucks and I hope she pulls through for the sake of herself and her family.
