‘Real‘ is getting absolutely shitted on left and right, and it seems like it’s for good reason as the people involved didn’t seem to get it either.
A month ago, Sulli admitted she had trouble understanding what the hell was going on until she read it about six times.
Sulli also admitted she had trouble getting into the scenario in the beginning. “I closed the script booklet as soon as I read over it. I didn’t understand what was going on at first so I had to read it about three times,” she said. The idol -turned-actress continued, “I think I finally got it after reading it the sixth time but I wanted to star in this film from the very beginning.”
Of course, because it’s Sulli netizens just assumed it was because she was a dipshit.
Recently though, a reporter asked about the reception the movie was getting directly to the cast.
“I saw a lot of things, but I’m not sure what I saw. Lots of things happen, but it seems like Kim Soo Hyun fills it up all by himself. It’s unclear if the movie had a message that we failed to understand, or if you wanted us to see the movie and analyze it however we want.”
And based on director Lee Sa Rang‘s answer, it doesn’t sound like he really knows what the hell was going on either.
“I’m not sure what’s real. I think what’s real is what you believe. So instead of giving you the answer or an explanation, I wanted to hear what the audience believed. I had the most fun when I thought about the various stories that come out from what people believe are real. That’s why I feel it can be analyzed from a lot of different angles.”
This is the answer you give when you have no idea what the point of something was but don’t want to say there was no clear direction to it.
Kim Soo Hyun, thoughts?
Kim Soo Hyun could only laugh, unsure of what to say.
The smartest one of them all, honestly.
Take the beating for now, your career will be fine.
