Hwasa drops the n-bomb in a cover of a version of “Irreplaceable” I’d never heard

HwasaIrreplaceable

Hwasa of MAMAMOO has been catching heat internationally for her usage of the n-word in a cover of Beyonce‘s “Irreplaceable“, and if your initial reaction is “Wait, on a cover of THAT song?” then you’re just like most everybody else.

Like others, my initial thought was, “Wait, did she just ad-lib ‘n*gga’ into the song where it didn’t exist before? Wat?” Because every time I’ve heard “Irreplaceable”, and god knows we’ve all heard it like a million times, there is no n-word in the lyrics.

To the left, to the left,
To the left, to the left,
To the left, to the left,
Everything you own in the box to the left,
In the closet, that’s my stuff,
Yes, if I bought it, please don’t touch.

There is, however, apparently a studio acapella version of the song that does not censor Beyonce’s use of the word — which is rare to hear because it’s even censored on the song’s remix with Ghostface Killah.

So yeah, it’s clear there, and maybe this is the version Hwasa used as a reference? I mean, it’s still stupid as hell on her part, but at least she apparently didn’t ad-lib it on her own randomly.

Honestly, the part about Korean celebrities doing shit like this doesn’t even move the needle much anymore because it’s so common (unfortunately), but what I’m more amazed at is the fact that Hwasa somehow choose to cover a version of the song that basically nobody’s ever heard before.

I dunno if that makes this even more shitty on her part or what, but geez this is a bizarre way to get involved in this type of mess.
